1How can i get started?
We kindly ask that all users who want to leave a review or read reviews to sign up for a Rate The Rental account. It’s free and only takes a minute. You will receive a confirmation email requesting that you click on a link to verify your email address. This is to help us ensure that we have your details correct and that the email address provided is legitimate. We ask that to start with, all users simply rate their current or most recent rental property - this will greatly aid any future renters of your property in deciding if it is right for them, given their individual circumstances . 2How do i leave a review?
First, sign up for an account. It’s free and only takes a minute. Once you have confirmed your email address, go to the Leave Reviews page. Type your address into the address field. The site will run a match on your address and show a short list of possible matches in a drop down field. Simply select the correct address from the match list and click next. If you do not see your address, be sure to check your spelling, and try to type in more details into the address field, including the full street name, then suburb, then the state. Proceed to rate your rental property on the categories provided and leave your written comments to help give content of your review to other renters. Try to be as straight forward and objective as possible. Understand that your Landlord may feel differently about your review and that there are two sides to every story. Your Landlord does have the right to reply to your review if they claim ownership of the property on our site. Reviews which are false or misleading, defamatory or otherwise breach our Terms & Conditions may be edited or removed at our discretion.
3How do i Read Reviews?
First, sign up for an account. It’s free and only takes a minute. Once you have confirmed your email address, go to the Read Reviews page. Type in the address you want to read reviews for. The site will run a check for any reviews previously entered for that address. If a review has been entered for the address - you will see a matched address appear in a short drop down field. Simply select it and then click the Search button to pull up all submitted reviews. If no matched addresses appear, this is because that property does not yet have a review submitted for it.
4I don’t see my rental property address in the match list
The site references a Google service which tracks all addresses in Australia. It is possible that if your address is a property which was recently built, that Google’s information database is not yet fully up to date. Please try again soon as we would love to have your review!
5I have a problem with my account

6I cant login
All passwords are case sensitive. If you cannot remember your password please follow the prompts to reset your password from the login screen.
7How do i provide a suggestion for a new feature or report a bug?
We would love to hear your ideas! Features which provide value to the most users will generally be prioritised higher above others. Please reach out to us on contact@ratetherental.com.au, or via our Contact Us page
8Why have i been contacted about my review from Rate The Rental staff?
As part of our Terms & Conditions we have a process in place to help Landlords whom have raised a dispute with us regarding a review of their property. It is in the best interest of all future prospective tenants of any one property to read fair and objective reviews in order to provide them with the most accurate information. If the Landlord feels that a review is blatantly false, misleading or defamatory, they have the right to raise this with us. We may contact you regarding your review if this occurs, requesting more information in order to determine an accurate overview of the situation. For Landlords

1How can i claim ownership of my rental property?

First, sign up for an account. It’s free and only takes a minute. Once you have confirmed your email address, login and go to the Read Reviews page. Type in your property address. The site will run a check for any reviews previously entered for your address. If a review has been entered for your address - you will see a matched address appear in a short drop down field. Simply select it and then click the Search button to pull up all submitted reviews. If no matched addresses appear, this is because your property does not yet have a review submitted for it.

If a match appears and you can click through to the next screen, you will see a short list of reviews submitted for your property. Click on one of them to read the review. Click on the “Claim Ownership” button, and you will be prompted to provide evidence or documents supporting your ownership claim. We ask for a copy of the current Land Title with your name on it (which is publicly available) as well as a copy of your Drivers License or other state or federal ID. You will receive a confirmation email informing you as to whether your Ownership Claim has been approved, or not - within 3 business days. Please be sure to also check your junk mail folder if you have not seen the email come through. If you are approved, all reviews for your property will have an “Ownership claimed” button next to them, and you now have right of reply to the review.

2How do i reply to a review?
First, sign up for an account. It’s free and only takes a minute. Once you have confirmed your email address, follow the instructions above to claim ownership of your property. Simply login, then navigate to a review for your property and scroll to the bottom. You will see a field allowing you to type in your comments as the owner. Your reply will be publicly available for all other prospective renters to review.

4Why do i need to provide evidence of ownership?
Providing accurate evidence of ownership of your rental property helps us ensure that you are in fact - the owner of that property and can gain access to reply to any reviews of your property as fast as possible. Secondly, this helps us ensure that any reply you post to a review as the landlord, or any dispute you may raise with us over a review - is authentic. Finally, it helps to safeguard you as the current landlord so that not just anyone can claim ownership of your property.
